Very interesting reads on European and USA 'S' gauge - What do you know of Japan's 'S' gauge of 22mm? I've been collecting a lot of Japanese made trains lately, Masudaya being my favorite, runs on 22mm, followed very closely by Yonezawa. For other gauges, I have an old Bandai on 24mm, Masudaya, Alps, and [old] Yonezawa on 28mm, and a missive Masudaya Shinkansen on 30mm.
My Shinkansen Typ 0 runs perfekt on rails from American Flyer, 22,2mm. The Koderma from MT runs also on American Flyer Rails. They runs also on German Rails from Stadtilm (22,5mm). I have only battery opperatet trains from Japan. My Haji lokomotiv ist temporary out of order. When you look for S-gauge modells around the world, you find mostly rails with 22,2 or 22,5 mm. You find also rails with 21mm (FAGE Italy) via 22 mm (Paya Spain), nearly 23 mm (Bub Germany) to 24 mm (Lastra Tschechia). Nearly all my modells runs on American Flyer. My Bub-trains and my Lastra-trains get some modyfys and so they runs also on Flyer-Rails.
